AZ Bankruptcy Attorneys Seeing Unwelcome Social Norm

July 8th, 2009 · No Comments · Uncategorized

More Arizona bankruptcy lawyers are now witnessing the affects of the economy first hand as more and more Americans are inevitably filing for personal bankruptcy protection. In fact, so much so that some AZ bankruptcy lawyers fear that it may become part of an unwelcome social norm, a sign of the times if you will, a way that many Americans are escaping the destructive grasp of a disintegrating economy.

It is not hard to see exactly why bankruptcy lawyers in Arizona are finding recent bankruptcy trends particularly scary, if not flat out disturbing. According to recently released information, bankruptcy filings are on the climb again. After a slight dip in filings from the month before, this February saw more than 100,000 new personal bankruptcy petitions.

It is crystal clear that many Americans are suffering and relying on federal bankruptcy protection to help alleviate those financial frustrations. Economic experts are trying to remain somewhat optimistic as they analyze surprising personal bankruptcy figures. Some predict that the bankruptcy arena should expect a return to normalcy by the end of 2011.If only Americans can hold off until then. But it is likely that many circumstances will not allow such timeframes to advance without shattering bankruptcy records. In fact, bankruptcy rates have peaked at all time highs since 2005 when new bankruptcy practices were put in place.

It is probable though that some Americans are holding off on filing for personal bankruptcy, if only for a little while, until they see exactly what legislation President Obama has on his federal agenda that could possibly benefit them so much so that bankruptcy will not be necessary after all.

However, for hundreds of thousands of Americans, the federal relief that is expected to come from the Obama administration might end up being a classic case of, “too little, too late.”
